The College is proud to award Academic scholarships each year recognizing excellence in academic achievement.
Due to a strong culture of philanthropy within our community, we are pleased to be able to offer an additional academic scholarship for new students enrolling in 2025 – the Tartan Plus Academic Scholarship.
Who is eligible to apply?
We are accepting scholarship applications from students not enrolled at Brisbane Boys’ College for entry into Year 7 in 2025.
What costs does the scholarship cover?
The Tartan+ Academic Scholarship will cover 100% of the tuition fees for a student from Year 7 for the duration of the term of the enrolment.
What costs will I be responsible for as a parent or guardian?
While 100% of the tuition fees will be covered by the scholarship, families are responsible for additional costs required to attend the College.
Families will be required to pay a one-time confirmation fee of $2,250 on enrolment.
Annual costs that families will also be responsible for include their son’s school uniform, technology levy, and any required textbooks. An indicative cost per year is outlined below.

How do I apply?
All scholarship applicants who have not already done so must complete a Brisbane Boys’ College enrolment form online as part of their application.
Submit an online enrolment application for Brisbane Boys’ College
Should you wish to postpone payment of the $550 enrolment application fee until the outcome of your scholarship application is known, you may use the code BBCacad2025. You will be invited to submit this unique code in the final ‘Review and Payment’ step in your online application. The balance of your enrolment application fee ($400) will be payable on acceptance of a successful offer of scholarship.
You will be required to upload the following documentation as part on your online enrolment application:
- Applicant’s Birth Certificate and Passport if born overseas
- School reports from the last two years (4 semesters of school reports)
- Most recent NAPLAN
- Cover letter to the Headmaster, written by the student, and an accompanying portfolio of accomplishments. We recommend your son’s portfolio highlights his interests and academic achievements, along with his broad involvement in school life, for example: leadership roles; community service activities; participation and achievements in music (instrument played and AMEB level achieved); or other co-curricular interests which may include participation in sports or activities such as Chess or Robotics. Please upload the cover letter and portfolio (in pdf or word doc format) when invited to submit “Additional Supportive Documents” in the online application.
- The decision to award a scholarship is entirely at the discretion of the Headmaster.
- Awards will take into account recent academic record and the outcome of an interview with parents and the applicant.
Once the submission is complete please contact Brisbane Boys’ College Head of Admissions, Mrs Katrina Bracken, katrina.bracken@bbc.qld.edu.au with subject line – “Tartan Plus Academic Scholarship application.”
