It is with much excitement that we welcome the commencement of Term 1 GPS Sports and Activities. Each year Brisbane Boys’ College looks forward to renewing its acquaintances with friends from the other GPS School communities.
To protect the wellbeing of all members of our GPS community and to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, all players, spectators and staff must adhere to the protocols below.
These regulations will be in place until further notice and we thank you for your support and cooperation in providing safe opportunities for our boys to participate in GPS sports and activities.

Student Information – arrival, uniform requirements, sports etiquette, departure
- For all training, practice, trials, matches and competitions, boys are required to arrive, play, go
- For training and practice, students are to arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the starting time and directly proceed to their designated area
- For competition matches, students are to arrive no earlier than 45 minutes prior to their fixture and directly proceed to the designated warm-up/holding zone
- Students are to wear their playing attire both to and from the venue (inclusive of First Grade teams)
- While it is usually encouraged that all boys shake hands and congratulate opposition teams, this will not occur during Term 1. Team huddles are not permitted and will be replaced by “three cheers for the opposition” following the conclusion of each match
- Students and parents/guardians are to leave the campus/venue within five minutes of the completion of their match. This will ensure all areas can be cleaned in preparation for the next group of participants and spectators
Spectators
- Parent/guardians are expected to follow a similar mantra to their sons when attending matches/games/competition: arrive, watch, leave
- To meet the regulatory requirements of contact tracing and monitoring of visitor numbers on campus and at venues all parent/guardians must register their attendance using the EVA Digital Check-In system. Students who are participating in the training/fixture/match will not be required to check-in using the EVA system
- It is recommended that parents/guardians download the EVA Check-In App via the Apple App Store prior to arrival at the College/venue
- If you have an Android device, you can use your phone’s camera or a QR Scanner App to scan codes displayed on posters located at each campus/venue zone
- If you experience technical difficulties please see a BBC staff member who will be able to assist
- Only two parent/guardians per child are permitted on campus at the fixture. Note: Some GPS school indoor venues may allow either one or two parent/guardians depending on the size of the spectator space
- Parents/guardians must not move to the specific playing field/area until five minutes prior to the match, and only once the previous match has been cleared. Matches will be scheduled with 15 minute breaks between games.
- Designated BBC and Visitor spectating areas will be marked in each zone
- Parent/guardians are encouraged to bring personal seating as access to grandstands and seating areas will be restricted to minimise high contact areas
- Spectators and students are to leave the campus/venue within five minutes of the completion of their match. This will ensure all areas can be cleaned in preparation for the next group of participants and spectators
Toilet and Changeroom Facilities
- No changeroom facilities will be available, with the exception of First Grade teams. All students are to arrive in competition uniform
- Please use the designated BBC and Visitor toilet facilities
Medical Support
- First Aid and Physiotherapy will be supported by All-Sports Physiotherapy Toowong. This includes one sports trainer at each relevant venue
- Personal hygiene measures will be followed by medical support teams including the cleaning of all relevant equipment between each patient. Parents are requested to wait outside the Sports Medicine areas while their son is being treated
